Approved Long Term Forecast of Annual Total Generated Energy (GWh) and Annual Maximum Generation (MW) for the Years 2010 - 2019

According to the Law, the Transmission System Operator prepares and CERA approves the Long Term Forecast of Annual Maximum Generation (MW) and the Annual Total Generated Energy (GWh) of the Cyprus Republic.  

The year 2009 forecast was accurate with a precision of +0,7%, since the recorded Annual Maximum Generation was 1.103 ΜW, while the predicted value was 1.095 MW. The predicted value of Annual Total Generated Energy for 2009 was 5.380 (GWh) and the recorded value was 5.133 (GWh), with a precision of -4,6%. The above difference of the prediction and recorded value shows the effects of the economic crisis in Cyprus.

 With the completion of the data recording for the year 2009, the Transmission System Operator has prepared the Long Term Prediction for the decade 2010-2019 that is approved by CERA. The results of the expected values of Annual Maximum Generation and Annual Total Generated Energy are shown in the following Graphs. Also, in the following graphs the recorded annual historic values since the general electrification of Cyprus from 1953 until today are shown.
